It's pretty straight forward. We should expect this kind of thinking.

It seems to be what the worksheet is expecting. It doesn't ask, "Is this possible?" or anything like that; it asks how, expecting an explanation.

The handwriting indicates a rather young student too. Very impressive.

I dunno, I'm in my thirties and my handwriting isn't that much different.

This is the "book" answer. These sort of questions are specifically designed to ensure the student understands that fractions are relative to the quantities being examined. In other words this is an example of an average kid and an idiot teacher who is doubly idiotic for not bothering to check their answer key.

Even science studies punish that kind of thinking. The state of education has been nothing more than brainwashing to turn people into obedient robots.

Nah, read more like an angry feminist cat lady working out her daddy issues on little Billy for daring to show off his "Mantelligence" in her presence.

"Hey Common Core. Could you step into my office for a sec?" "Sure. Why?"

"You're fuckin' fired, that's why."

Assert something is true, then mark it as wrong when the given answer demonstrates how the true statement could be such.

Great job, teacher.

lol, the kids answer is pretty smart and also accurate.

I have also been going to University for a few years now, I don't think I have ever had a dumb fuck "trick" question like this before. Common core must go away.

The problem isn't common core in this case, it's an idiot teacher.

Idiot teachers existed before common core. They'd exist without common core. They'll exist after common core.

This should have been brought up at PTA meetings, school board meetings, the local news , etc. That teacher has no business instructing children.
