Should Christians enforce laws that have to deal with the worship between God and man?

It's really only in the west that there's a tradition of church and state being separated. In eastern Europe orthodoxy is highly dependent on the state. Of course both choices bring pros and cons. A recent con can be seen in how Iranians are protesting their government and this has also lead to some women taking off their hijab as an act of protest. Hence if a government becomes the subject of protest it may undermine a religion also, which could be seen as too big an existential threat.
