I think the better question is: can Islam coexist with the civilized world without reformation?
I don't think it can.
Let's be honest: every Islamic sect promotes bashing and raping women and raping children and terrorism and murdering Christians and anyone who disagrees with Islam.
Muhammad performed and promoted all of these bestial acts and EVERY Islamic sect claims he was the most perfect human in creation and his actions represent moral perfection that all Muslims should follow (Koran 68:4, 33:21).
Terrorizing, raping, oppressing and murdering innocent people is promoted in every mosque by every imam on Earth, including the local mosques in your town, and Muslims don't seem to mind one bit.
The truth is that not all Muslims are bad people who will act on their murderous beliefs, however that doesn't mean that followers who promote, participate, fund and indoctrinate children into the Islamic terrorist ideology don't qualify as members of a terrorist network.
Religious freedom is a basic human right, however that right isn't a license to promote and commit the full spectrum of human rights atrocities. Religious freedom shouldn't give Muslims a license to commit child abuse by shaping children into murderous terrorists, which is no less acceptable than encouraging children to maliciously light bush fires or throw bricks from an overpass.
Muslims can believe whatever they like, however they should also expect consequences for being a member of a terrorist hate group which promotes subjugating, raping and murdering their civilized community.
I think civilized people who respect the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights have a duty to express opposition of Muslims and the full spectrum of human rights atrocities that ALL Islamic sects promote.
