I was raised a Catholic but my dogshit retarded parents were braindead and never answered my questions. I thought because the bible was false it was grounds to leave the faith. My parents never responded when I showed them how the bible was innaccurate or wondered how we were supposed to have experiences after death, but they never, never once thought for a moment. They just acted like i didn't make sense and laughed and said something like "Actually, you're wrong" and talked about some vaguely related church document.
Fast forward to my college graduation, and I realize Catholicism is naught for science. There is no confirmation of afterlife or evidence of miracles, but only a life well lived in faith. The failures of history have been transgressions of faith, and sinners will not enter into our own earthly paradise, when we build it.
As a result, I became intensely Catholic. Nothing became more important to me than living a faithful life, and renouncing sin.
Do not lie to your children. There is no reason to believe in an afterlife or miracles, but only saintly mission in a life dedicated to Christ.
