I tried it about a year ago, and while the concept is great, the execution felt incomplete. Features were overly complicated, lots of little UI bugs, site didn’t work well on mobile.

Also the free-form nature of the “game” meant that you could game it for points rather than, you know, for your own productivity. And like many other places on the internet, people get fucking crazy for their points. If you are not an already productive or disciplined person, I wouldn’t recommend it as you will spend all your time playing the system instead of getting things done.

I have tried it. I have died many times (if you don't use it you lose health and die) This was a while back so I don't know if they improved it, but it felt like it should have been so much more. This coming from a guy that loves his RPGs. It is def not for everyone, but I can see it being a helpful tool for reminders to do stuff everyday, if you use it.

The problem with this app - and other similar gamifying apps - is that it heavily relies on your personal honor. It might be better if each "player" is attached to "partners" who can personally verify 1) how meaningful & important the tasks are, and 2) whether those tasks are genuinely completed. But then you might as well get those friends to remind you directly anyway, right?

I have not tried it, but I've thought about trying it before. Seems rather interesting.

I'm the same way. I think the deal breaker for me is if the game aspect of it is actually entertaining.

I half ass tried it two times. Both times I ended up unable to make a habit out of using HabitRPG :/
