Geez, have you never been on the receiving side of the experience?

"You didn't get the job" is information. But it is not USEFUL information because you don't know why, which means you aren't in a position to know how (or if) you screwed up. If you know what you did wrong, you have a chance of fixing it.

So yeah, I'd say you missed a lot.
