Islamic culture is a term primarily used in secular academia to describe the cultural practices common to historically Islamic people. The early forms of Muslim culture were predominantly Arab. With the rapid expansion of the Islamic empires, Muslim culture has influenced and assimilated much from the Persian, Caucasian, Bangladeshi, Turkic, Mongol, Chinese, Indian, Malay, Somali, Berber, Egyptian, Indonesian, Filipino, Greco-Roman Byzantine, Spanish, Sicilian, Balkanic and Western cultures.

One of the traits, to be sure a common trait, of Islamic culture is following the teachings of Muhammad. That does not mean however that every member of the Islamic culture is a follower of Muhammad as the culture also includes secular and Christian members.

I just think the muslims supporting terror should do the same, either change your stance or explain your reasoning.

The we agree, however as evidenced by the links that I provided not all Muslim people support terror so making blanket statements about Muslims and terror is inappropriate. The president of Indonesia (Joko Widodo) is Muslim, he heads a wealthy country that is part of the G20 meetings our Prime Minister is currently attending, its population is just shy of 90% Muslim. Would it be appropriate for our PM to ask him if he is sorry for what radical Muslims from another country did? Does he have anything to answer for for crimes committed by others following a warped version of his religion half a world away? Does the Prime Minister of Turkey (Ahmet Davutoğlu) who will be sitting at the same table have anything to answer for? Turkey is also a predominately Muslim country (99% Muslim) and Mr. Davutoglu is most certainly Muslim.

If the answer is no, then neither do Muslims in downtown Toronto.

This is consistent with what I said earlier, "And my point is that we should hold those with abhorrent ideological views responsible for the consequences of them." But since all Muslims do not support these abhorrent views and practices.......

re torture

I don't really want to get into a discussion of it, it was used as an example. You (regardless of the nature of the face you choose to put upon it) support the practice, at least in certain circumstances, much like, I assume, some Muslims support abhorrent acts - in certain circumstances.

It's a sad world we live in.

Edit: Also wanted you to know I'm not downvoting you, and whoever is should stop. This is a discussion we're both contributing to.

Thank you. In truth I wondered as it's a single downvoat each and we are the only two engaged in the conversation, but I believe you. That said, if I was worried about the level of my imagery Internet points I wouldn't engage in the discussion of controversial subjects :-)
