I'd really like to see what an NDP majority could do.

Me too tbh. It's time for change. the conservatives are jeopardizing our sovereignty, social safety net and future.

Canada’s prime minister, Stephen Harper, is poised to call a parliamentary election for October 19, kicking off a marathon 11-week campaign likely to focus on a stubbornly sluggish economy and his decade in power.
Polls indicate that Harper’s right-of-center Conservative party, which has been in office since 2006, could lose its majority in the House of Commons.
That would leave Harper at the mercy of the two main centre-left opposition parties, who could unite to bring him down. Minority governments in Canada rarely last more than 18 months.

I only get to follow Canadian politics by what I see on here. Does it seem like the tide is actually turning against Harper? Are these polls accurate?

According to the CBC: The latest update from the CBC Poll Tracker puts the NDP narrowly ahead at 32.1 per cent support, followed closely by the Conservatives at 31.6 per cent. The Liberals, at 25.6 per cent, come up in third.
CTV: 66 per cent of voters want change. Two out of three of those polled agree it is “time for change,” while only 24 per say it is “not time for change” and 10 per cent remain unsure.
It's difficult to say how accurate a political poll is, given the limited population demographic that can be targeted at any one time. However i think voters are turning against the conservatives. Generally speaking, every poll confirms this.
Whether or not this is enough to turn the tide against the conservatives is another question entirely. The problem is that the opposition is divided while the conservatives are united. So if, lets say 30% vote NDP and 30% vote Liberal and 40% vote conservative, the conservatives will remain in power with less than half the vote even though 60% voted against conservatives.
I think if the NDP and Liberals don't form a coalition, Harper will remain in power with a minority government after the October election.
I hope this helps
