The last night we had a cold front come on in a hurry, which brought some rain and lighting with it. I had to hurry up and cook and dinner before the storm. That picture with the sausages, onions, and pepper was taken around 18:30 and I had to use the flash due to the dark clouds.

My kids were laughing that I took a picture of my washing buckets, but I like that two bucket system, with the wash and rinse.

Had a nice 4 mile hike on the first day. Which is a bit of a workout when you end up with a five year old on your shoulders for much of it.

Thanks, you're welcome. Everyone seemed to like my coffee picture from last weekend, so I figured I'd share some more.

:( looks like you put in the veggies after already cooking the sausage. The veggies should cook down a bit before putting the sausage in. Since sausage like that is usually already cooked, you don't need to do more than heat it up and give a nice bit of color to the outside. You'll get more flavor that way too. #CulinaryCamping

It was raw Italian sausage. If it was the precooked I'd totally agree. Ended up with a good result. The flavors mingled well.

I use an old coffee percolator like that one. No instant for me.

I do both. Depends on how much weight I want to pack. The percolator is a far superior cup of brew, that is for sure.

Now if I could just figure a way to use the Keurig coffee maker on a campout.

need a little warmer weather first.

I'm itching for spring time. I am thinking of doing at least one winter camp. We'll see, I might have to do it solo.

I still need a under quilt for my hammock before I try a winter trek.

In before the "That's not camping, look at all that luxury" people comment. Looks like a lot of fun. Where is this?

Findley State Park Ohio. All the luxury I can pack in and out of my car's trunk.

Should be doing a backpacking trip in September. I'll be sure to satisfy those who like to eat their food out of bag.

Nice. Missouri has some great areas. Spent some time on the Current River by Van Buren, awesome out there. Those flies though.. Killers.

Ah yes. You really can't escape the mosquitoes in Missouri. Were you camping or were you able to spend some time floating?
