Wow, VERY late dinner for you :)
Agree on the background already! I'll be lightening up the container area where the posts are listed out I think.
Flairs can be really handy for finding posts at a quick glance; some of these can even be added to the sidebar as resources to keep. You'll get the hang of it and I'll help show you how =D

And then probably up at 0600 to get the boy off to school.
We really need clones!

Oh good - you're watching! HAHA! Yes, agree it needs resizing but I think I'm going to throw a scaling code to it...STAND BY! =D
That background is really, really perfect--you have a good eye!

WOOO HOOO! I have a stalker! HAHAHAHA!
the scaling seems to be working... give me another minute then I'll dial it in for you to see.

Ugh - still have the AC cranking on high here in AZ
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:40:18 PM
Oh yeah: A bit too much cold and a bit too much snow and a bit too long for my taste.
Still working on scaling the banner pic but I'm getting there...
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:40:16 PM
the banner pic and the container just below are fighting me, like your son fights you not to go to bed, lol
I've lived in Michigan: no moar snow for me unless it's vacation!
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:40:10 PM
check it now!!
I lived in Tulsa for 10 years - tornadoes suck!
I don't know why, but every house we lived in never had a basement o_O
I may still have to have you resize that banner... I know it already isn't translating well to mobile devices but I have a few tricks yet up my sleeve to whack that baby into shape, lol
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:40:06 PM
With all the tornadoes, you'd think basements would practically be a requirement.
This is coming along nicely... now, that very top area where all the default subverses are listed horizontally, I think I'm going to lighten that so that the blue comes thru a bit... *dives back into coding...

*ties rope around waist and tosses other end to FlimsyArmadillo...
DON'T LET GO!! lol

FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:53 PM
Veddy, veddy charming =D
Howz it looking now (that top area ain't gonna happen like I want it to :(, but I will research this a bit more)
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:46 PM
I'm so glad you do!
Do you like the white of the main container-post area, or can I dial that down just a smidge?
I just realized that the tippy top area isn't changing because the master code of the site has just changed in the last day or so!! Grrrrr
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:42 PM
Okay, I took the liberty of dropping the color from #FFFFFF to #FCFCFC, very slight but not so harsh.
WOW, the code is changing on the site as we speak! This reply box is now outlined in gold and it was gray a few minutes ago!
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:39 PM
We can delete all this chatter later, but for now, it's better than comm'ing with PM--it's too hard to see what's been said because you have to go back and forth between screens to keep track of conversation.
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:36 PM
BWAHAHAHAH! When we get going like this, it's best to stay in your INBOX to go back and forth.
My question was about lessening the "whiteness" a bit; I dropped it from an #FFFFFF; you may not even notice unless you have the screens open side by side.
I think I want to drop this brightness even more, even just to test it out, but I'll let you look first at what i've done so far
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:35 PM
Cool- we're on the same page, lol.
I have a program running in the background called fLUX and it drops the blue to make it easier on the eyes at night. When I turned it off (after realizing that it was dimming for night time here), OW MY EYES--I think I've burned my retinas!
Give me one minute then hit refresh; I'm doing to drop the whiteness a bit more.
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:27 PM
Okay, you hit refresh one more time and see: I think this is the one.
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:24 PM
that dialed in really nicely (RGB 247 247 247 if you're keeping score at home, lol)

Okay, next: buttons! You want any thing fancy for up and down voting buttons? I made the up-down voting buttons on v/LEGO look like legos and there's legos on the right sidebar (they're still there for the moment). Would you like anything fancy like this?? What else might you like to see on the sub?

One other item is Mod Flair: you have CakeBoss next to your name, ADHDFerret has Baker's Helper by his, and I have Icing Wrangler. I was just mostly playing around but if you like these, they can stay. The colors I chose are chocolate and buttercream, lolol, but you let me know if you'd like anything different; oh, and I can make the a standard rectangle instead of having the rounded corners.
FlimsyArmadillo removed 2.1 years ago on 9/2/2016 7:39:13 PM
No change to mod flairs - cool
That lego stud for upvoting/downvoting is called a Sprite and it needs to be insanely super simple. I like your cake image, but it's a bit too complex and will definitely not show up on mobile devices. Think 2 pixels by 2 pixels---this is practically how small the object is when it's created and appears even smaller on the phone screen for some devices. I was thinking some kind of slice of cake would work (that's the basic shape of the vote buttons now and I can just change the colors to maybe chocolate and red velvet, or something along those lines) or a baking tool, again super simple like a pie/cake server (same shape we have now) or maybe a rolling pin. You probably have more tool ideas... but simple and easily scalable is what is needed. The images I made for LEGO I created in GIMP, it's like PhotoShop but free.
