Also, to separate families of text from others is to be more specific with the definitions. Each definition exists inside a scope, no matter how specific or broad it is. For example, let's say we want to change a text color:

body {
    color: green;
}

This will affect all text on the page because body is in a scope that spans the entire page. Let's get more specific:

.side {
    color: green;
}

Now, we're only affecting text inside the sidebar scope. Even more specific:

.side .titlebox {
    color: green;
}

This will only affect text inside the titlebox scope (which has the page name, description, subscribers, etc.), which is inside the sidebar scope, which is inside the body scope.

You can think of it like how laws are in each country. National laws span across the entire country. State/territory laws only exist within the states/territories inside the country. Finally, city laws are only applicable within the city's borders. Yet, all of the national and state/territory laws still affect the city:

+- Country ---------------------------------------+
|                                                 |
| +- Territory 1 -------------+ +- Territory 2 -+ |
| |                           | |               | |
| | +- City 1 -+ +- City 2 -+ | | +- City 3 -+  | |
| | |          | |          | | | |          |  | |
| | +----------+ +----------+ | | +----------+  | |
| |                           | |               | |
| +---------------------------+ +---------------+ |
|                                                 |
+-------------------------------------------------+

So, to solve your problem, try to be as specific as possible with your definitions so they only affect what you want.

It's a lot to take in. Don't give up, just pace yourself. Good Luck in quitting nicotine! (I used an e-cigarette, slowly cutting back on the nicotine level in the juice I used, to quit. This requires a more expensive e-cigarette, and buying the juice separate. Now I don't even vape. )
