This article is just a premeditated excuse for Dodd's and his freind's piss poor preseason projections and rankings. Everyone has injuries at key positions, and possibly excepting the loss of a starting quaterback, everyone deals with it.
The quarterback touches the ball every offensive play. A quarterback can't win every game by himself, but he has the most important role on the team. I think a FBS team with otherwise good to great talent can win 6-8 games with a mediocre quarterback, but that is about the limit. Coaches need to make preparations for various forseeable disasters, including injuries.
