Every God damn year, Notre Dame makes the Top 25 list (usually Top 10) just to keep NBC happy. The only thing I look forward to during the college football season is to see ND get knocked out of the polls.

5 is definitely too high, but they have a fairly weak schedule (Washington is their toughest opponent), how high should an undefeated Boise be? I think they could reach the mid (maybe even low) teens before the bowls.

You bastard...

But seriously I just don't know how anyone can say they're a better team than TCU, Oregon, Michigan State, Clemson, etc. There is no way they would beat any of those teams on a neutral field. I would love to hear someone's reasoning behind disagreeing with that statement.

They also have ASU at 8 so...yeah this poll is garb

Temple is ranked 56...as in 56/128...

Do these people even watch CFB?

As much as I love seeing Texas in the top 25 again, even if it's only until week one when we get bombed back to 'Others receiving votes-Land', I can't see the Horns ranked over Arkansas. That's some bullshit.

However, when Western Kentucky is ten spots ahead of A&M, all is well with the world.

Mike Riley is a "massive coaching upgrade?" I don't see it.

I see it as a lateral move. You get a coach with a decent record at a less-than-juggernaut school and NFL head coach experience (although he was the Chargers HC for their 1-15 season, worst season ever for them...) and get rid of a coach that just couldn't pull Nebraska back up to the top of the field. I don't know that Pelini was necessarily the reason for Nebraska's mediocre performance but a change was definitely needed

It drives me crazy when schools don't understand who they are. The recruiting landscape has changed since Osborne was there and Nebraska is no longer at the center of the CFB. If a coach is consistently winning 9+ games then he is only a player or two from making a run at the NC. If this was a few years ago and they thought they could get Urban Meyer, then make the change, but Riley was the most unexciting hire of last off season.
