Today is special, but not as special as May 29th, our "started dating" anniversary. We were 13 when we got together and never split since then. Today we celebrate 3 years being married, but later this month - 15 years being together. Over half our lives.
Since this sub focuses on brides and weddings, I guess I should elaborate on that. We were married outdoors. We rented a tent, asked my step Father if we could use his yard, got some barbeque & beer, and just had a really good time. It was smallish 70 people total and I wore blue jeans, a grey wool vest, green tie, and a huge smile. She wore a lovely white dress. She was stunning. The sun was out so we danced, talked, and played corn hole.
Everything we did was simple, affordable, and we only surrounded ourselves with the people closest to us - so we had a really great party.
For that personal touch, I sculpted our cake topper. we're easy going people, so I depicted us as snails.
My wife is an amazing woman. Great mother, kind (but protective) soul, and my best friend. I can't praise the woman enough, but that's too be expected since we have stayed together all this time.
I know the two of us set a high standard. But I know we were put on this Earth for each other, and each other only.
