19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. (John 5:19 KJV)
This scripture in no way is saying that Jesus was less than His Father, but is saying that they are one (John 17:21), and therefore the Son can do nothing but what the Father does. Some have tried to use this verse to say that Jesus was not God in the flesh, but was only a servant to God, and could do nothing on His own. Instead this is saying that Jesus and His Father were one, and operated identical to each other, so instead of it showing they are not equal, it shows that they were exactly the same.
Jesus was the exact copy of the Father (Hebrews 1:3), and if we look at what Jesus did while on the earth, then we can see exactly what the Father is like. Jesus cured, all those who would let him, of all illnesses and diseases as well as disabilities and all other maladies that the devil has put on us. He also cleansed the Lepers, cast out demons, and even raised the dead. If He is just like the Father, then how can some religious people say that it is not the will of God for us to do these things, as Jesus told us to do them (John 14:12)? God wants His children to be healthy, wealthy and wise, and will never put sickness or disease upon us (James 1:17), any more than Jesus did while on the earth. Praise God for His goodness, grace, mercy, and most of all His love.
