Nice enough folks (Sure as shit beta, meek video game guys married to fat women) lots of other work friends and some old grandad, not a bad time at all. There were two couples there I had never met, friends of the host.
So once enough people showed up, we started playing this Quiplash game, prompts shown on the TV, everyone anwsers on their phones, then everyone votes for the funniest, pretty fun IMO. I was trying to be polite/ low-key, and I could tell these two couples (and the hosting couple) are quite liberal. Lots and lots of jokes riffing on the OrangeManBad theme. No substance, just knee jerk fuck trump. OK, whatever.
So, one prompt came up, I cannot remember what it was, but one choice was an OrangeManBad response, and the other one was random. Random answer was funny enough, certainly funnier that meaningless fuckdrumpf, so I voted for that.
I’ll never forget how this panned out:
5 people voted for the fucktrump “joke,” I was the only person to vote the other answer. One people said, “how’s it feel to be on the losing side, Serf?” Their idea of the losing side is disagreeing with everyone. WTF? It’s my fucking opinion. Bucking OrangeManBad, nay, a bad joke, was insanity in their NPC heads. Good god. I also went on to win that whole game with actual jokes...
