So up in till recently I though I hated beer. This was weird because I love super black coffee, dark tea, and I bake bread with odd grains like hard rye, red wheat, and malts. I tried a Guinness lately and it was do able, and I even liked a Yuengling black and tan. Turns out I just really don't like hops, so american beer taste like industrial waste to me, and IPA's are painful.
So what would you suggest to a hop hating beer trier?

I'd say to check out stouts and imperial ales, possibly porters too.

Alias is on to something. Sounds like you like roasted malts or malt in general to be the more predominant flavor. Porters, stouts, coffee stouts, oatmeal stouts... There's a few of the darker ales you'd like. What region of where do you live? Might be abl to recommend something local.

Captain Bastard's Oatmeal Stout. Might be hard to get depending on location though.
