This headline is intentionally misleading.

"Without a warrant"? They were explicitly invited to do the search by the school! The school called the police and asked them to please come and search!

So technically they didn't have a warrant - because they didn't initiate the search.

Why do you lie like this in your title???

The students didnt consent to any searches, and the police had no probable cause.

It isn't the student's property - it's the school.

It's the school's prerogative to consent or not. The students have no say in the matter.

Just like if you put drugs in my closet, and i invited the cops to search it - it doesn't matter that you didn't consent to the search in my closet.
