2 stripe white belt, been training for a little over a year now, and i would have to say that my go to technique is probably the scissor sweep.

No ranks in my gym.

Been training for two years, love me a Von Flue choke.

What rank are you?

The gym I'm at is no-gi only and doesn't have ranks.

How long have you been training and why did you start?

I started less than two months ago.

I kept hearing about bjj on Joe Rogan's podcast. I used to skip any episodes that were about fighting because it didn't interest me much, but after a while, his infectious enthusiasm got me to check it out and now I love it.

What's your favourite submission?

I don't know enough and am not confident enough in any to have a favourite yet.

Hey all -- I'm a blue belt in my 4th year of BJJ.

I started training BJJ because I was a big UFC fan - and I knew I had zero desire to get punched in the face (don't want to have to deal with TBI). I had also started listening to the Rogan podcast -- and he was huge on people training -- at least to give it a shot.

Met up with a local gym, started training on a Rigan Machado Brown -- and the rest is history.

My favorite submission is the Ezekiel choke -- because you can hit it anywhere -- and it's applicable 'on the streets' if you have a bracelet or long sleeves.

Hello! I'm a blue belt with about 4 years of experience. My best submission by far is armbar from mount. Funnily enough this came about because i keep trying to make my best submission mounted x choke which always seems to end in an arm bar, not actually completing the x-choke.

Blue Belt.

Chronologically 6 years. Actual mat time about 3 years. I started training because I always wanted to learn martial arts, but never had the opportunity due to money so once I was at a place in college where I had enough money to train and was in a location that offered legit BJJ/MMA I began training.

My favorite submission is the far side armbar from side control.

Rank: Purple Belt

I've been training for about 8 years now. Changed organizations twice which has led to an extended belting time for me but whatever.

I first started training to spend more time with my oldest brother and then when he moved away I stuck with it.

My favorite submission is switching back and forth between a triangle choke and a platform arm bar.

I'm now part of STARTBJJ which is Prof. Rafael Gordinho Lima's organization and I'm lucky enough to be one of his full time instructors here in Rhode Island.
