Eh, but they won't. They will never admit it. This is just one crazy outlier; one nut-bag. BUT HEY LOOK A Christian did something bad! Sorry for the passive aggressive bullshit, but I need to rant.
So by what logic are we judging groups of people now?
What are the statistics? Do 1% of all illegal immigrants do this? Do legal migrants have similar figures? Does the wider population have similar figures?
Is it a cultural reality that causes these issues? Is it just assholes being assholes?
If you're pissed off that this particular piece-of-work was treated leniently under Australian law, then say that. If he was treated differently to how an 'Australian' paedophile would be, then say that. And then go and write some letters, articles, protest or get involved with strengthening the laws in this country.
But if you don't know the answers to the above questions, then you're just spouting ignorant bullshit, and if you aren't doing anything to fix the problem, then you are just uselessly moaning like a tit.
So you, as presumably a white male (...or hindu woman, or anything...) would find it fair for society to view you and your family and ethnic group in a dangerous and terrible light because a tiny minority of your group (white males for example) were awful mother-fuckers? And that you would be ok to have your options curtailed? Be rejected from a community or country? Be held responsible for the crimes of others?
Note that this is not to say that there aren't serious issues with immigration policy and methods, along with huge problems regarding entitlement, cultural clashes, education (of everyone concerned) and intolerance, etc.
"But what makes it even more disturbing is that this is not the first time that this detainee had attempted self-harm" Well on the bright side it will probably be the last time.

What the hell am I missing here? You can come here as an Asylum seeker, be released into the community, sexually assault a child 6 times, be found guilty, be released into the community again, go get child porn on a laptop in a public library, be put back into detention. Then for some reason we have refugee advocates saying we needed to have this man out of detention and in a hospital because he self harms. I don't know what astounds me more that this criminal who can come here and do this to our community or the fact that there are still refugee advocates saying detention of asylum seekers is bad after seeing this. Oh I guess the more surprising part is that refugee advocates also wanted this guy in a tax payer funded mental hospital instead of a jail or better yet an Afghan jail.
Following on from that other thread about the Sydney gangster, this is a case where he has been convicted of a crime but I still think he should have gone to prison indefinitely instead of a detention centre indefinitely. In a dentention centre he will be surrounded by innocent people, potentially children and will not be under the same level of security as prison, as this event clearly shows.
Ahh yeah I remember I can recall that convo without going back and reading it, to me it's just our policy makers failing to protect the community again because of the over politicisation of the issue. I can defiantly agree that this is a far better case or at least strait forward case for deportation than the Sydney gangster but the fact this guy got out into the community shows that our legal system is failing the community here. As with the Jail argument, he should be in a high level of security and on paper a Jail makes a lot more sense than a detention centre for sure. I would say that because his visa was candled he was probably moved out of an Australian Jail and into a centre for deportation when he'd just decided to crack the shits about going home to Afghanistan probably because he did similar crimes back there (speculation from me). I do understand that there are innocents in detention centres but there are clearly people this as well, it's such a hard issue to solve and I think the best really is to stop people smuggling and I guess separate family s off. I don't really know what arrangements occur there especially with family who are not refugees. I'm glad I'm not making the hard decisions personally.
What makes you think that? even after all these crimes he still has refugee advocates backing him according to this article and I'm sure they would be fully aware of his complete situation by now. I doubt the process that allowed him to enter the community would change with any transparency because practicality on asylum seekers is continuously abandoned in favour of ideology due to the issue being so heavily politicised and the over compassionate media spin that follows. The Greens for example have pretty much always advocated for bridging visas to allow asylum seekers into the community for processing, even when asylum seekers arrive by illegal means. I suspect Mr Jafarri was in the community on a bridging visa to commit more crimes in 2012 because of the shutting down of the Pacific Solution and the policy failures of that time. With these elements in our society continuously saying how cruel we are to not bring Asylum Seekers into the community for processing despite the obvious inherent danger what hope of a popper debate do we have? Remember some of the people we take in have been child soldiers etc and have done some pretty horrific things, if the community knew they might say no without any consideration where some should be given. It's a complex topic but the community cant seem to get their heads around and out politicians cant either.
PS: upvoted because I don't think your opinion deserved a downvote.
Well yeah, they're SJWs, don't act like they have a kind bone in their body. They want to harm the "white male patriarchy" and any molested children are just acceptable collateral to further their agenda.

This is one of the cases that I think is ok to remove his visa, he arrived and quickly started abusing children, not like the gangster who has lived in Australia since a child.

This sort of idiot and his being let back into the public may not have happened if the system regarding refugees was completely transparent.
peace...
