Oh yes. Once flying from Washington to Miami, on a mostly empty flight, other passengers and I started to fell a very strong smell of burning. Some people said it smelt of plastic burning, but to me it smelt like paper burning. We called the attendants and they shut off all entertainment devices and lights, leaving only the flood lights in the ceiling of the cabin. The pilot came to the main cabin and looked around, talked to one of the attendants and just headed back to the cockpit.
At the moment I wasn't very scared because I was concerned with some other stuff. But after we landed safely everybody cheered and it came to me something bad could have happened. But I am glad it did not :)
