As the self proclaimed decider of all things, I support and endorse SPLOIT.

I think they would be in future. At the time, the best approach seemed to be "ignore it and it'll go away", which it did. The original post claimed they were doing it because we take our sub too seriously. A serious response didn't seem to be the way to go at the time. That said, if people keep pushing the boundaries for no other purpose than to cause mayhem, at some point we simply have to stand firm.

So problem solved. Why is fuzzy on here trying to get you all emergency powers? Did @thegoldenboy put him up to this?

Why? Most of the users didn't care. There were over 200 of them on at the time. More than enough to downvote these posts off the front page. Most of them either didn't care or found it funny. Why should mods impose their own personal standards on a community?

Lol, @FuzzyWords! 181 comments but only 16 upvotes. That must be some record.

Do people feel a sub should be allowed to drift, subject-wise?

No not at all. Subs should try to anchor themselves to a subject if that fits their purpose. I'm just asking questions and thinking out loudrunning my mouth.

There is room for subject-less or community-type subs to drift, like SBBH has. For these types of subs I think small scale drift is inevitable as new users come and old ones go. Drift may even be desirable to keep the sub from stagnating and to keep things fresh for old users.

I think some drift is normal as a sub's subscriber base grows or experiences turnover. Everyone brings their own ideas of the sub's subject to their posts.

But I agree, subs shouldn't drift on the big scale, and moderators help prevent that from happening.

I think there were a bunch of people caught up in the silliness of pinging @HomerSimpson and they carried that to inappropriate levels and places.
