As much as I hate conspiracy theories, the idea that SRS planned this is starting to make too much sense.

Really pitifull if it is the case, takes a special kind of butthurt ego to plan/orchestrate something like this.

/v/conspiracy is where the witch hunt appears to be coming from, so the implications of your theory are hilarious. Will /v/conspiracy accuse themselves of being SJWs? Maybe they'll start witch hunts against their own members! Fun to think about, anyway.

This is the best comment that I've read and that I agree with in the last hour. Slowly digesting all of this garbage and feel the same way. I love this place and just want to enjoy it. I like this sub and in the month that I've been a member haven't noticed any real abuse of power by anyone. Until now. Hopefully we can get this sub back on track as soon as possible.

The fact that the posts have not been culled is itsself an important test. IF they HAD been censored, we'd have our dead canary right there, and know to get the fuck out.

The fact that they have not is a good sign. But it does not mean that scrutiny is not necessary.

I, for one, am a fan of the rule. Because it is silly/stupid!

It does make a pretty good "idiot test", to make sure people read the sidebar. It could probably be stated clearer, though, like "titles must include a question mark". Also might make people less angry if we get an automoderator running on Voat and set that up to remove things.

Reposting my previous comment on this issue as it's relevant to what you've said here.

https://voat.co/v/AskVoat/comments/402535/1743672

The thread in question has since been deleted for violating rule number one (All posts must have a question mark.). This caused another backlash with cries of censorship.

I have an issue with this, Rule 1 does not state that all posts must have a question mark. Rule 1 currently states that all posts must include a question.
Proper grammar dictates that a question is proceeded with a question mark, however people can fuck this up because people. No, I didn't accidentally a word in that sentence

If you want all posts to have a question mark in the title then please change the wording of Rule 1 to reflect this requirement. What is happening currently is that posts are being removed because they violate an implied rule but in no way violate any actual written rules.

[Off topic] Having just read this article posted here, I'd like to give a big shout out Fuck You to anyone *triggered* by my use of the word violate.

Yes, I agree! If the post is not removed quickly enough, it obviously leads to issues.

Well, that is the rule, apparently. It's just phrased horribly in the sidebar.

Well, to be fair it at this moment it would be little to much if they start deleting negative posts about moderator. That would basically mean the end of this subverse.

With that said, Votater in question does have some opinions that will most likely interfere with her ability to moderate arguably one of the most popular subs on Voat. Now that is a problem and it should be addressed. If one single person is causing this much controversy and truly cares about community in general than maybe she should step down and let Voat evolve without her.

Votater in question does have some opinions

Stop there. That's it. Opinions are for discussion, and beyond that mean nothing.

most likely interfere

Hasn't happened yet, so that doesn't matter.

Now that is a problem

About as much of a problem as a potential criminal, which is literally everyone on the fucking planet.

If one single person is causing this much controversy

She hasn't done a god damn thing except talk to people and enforce pre-existing rules. /v/conspiracy is causing the controversy, not she.

and truly cares about community in general

I care about the community in general, but that doesn't include brigades from a bunch of retards with an agenda.

maybe she should step down and let Voat evolve without her

If she does, then these retards with an agenda will be motivated to take out every other mod who dares to disagree with anything they believe.

She is a mod for like 3 weeks. How can you judge her performance at all? What do you know about her or agenda or what she stands for? Do you personally know her? Do you have some interest in protecting her?

Also don't tell me where to stop! Opinions are precisely what destroyed reddit for some of us. If it wasn't for people pushing their opinions on others both of us would be on reddit right now and not on voat. Coincidentally she has a lot of same ideas as people that are fucking up the reddit and people are angry. Can you blame them.

Finally what is it with all the quotes? I wrote like three fucking sentences on something absolutely irrelevant to our everyday lives. Until 5 hours ago I had no idea of who or what /v/she is nor do I care to find out. Who gives a shit is she is the moderator or not. If people don't want her to moderate the sub than she should not moderate it. She didn't create it nor she can claim ownership over so what is the problem?

How do you know what posts have been deleted? She might have deleted 100s and the only ones we can see are those that got through. Censorship is not the answer in any circumstance.

No, deleting a popular post over a question mark is the definition of censorship. Modlog being visible does not mean you can delete everything. Deleting a post deletes all its comments and restricts further discussion on the topic. Please don't bring your reddit mentality here. Rules are not more important than content, nor are they supposed to be applied totally objectively. The definition of mederation is being subjective and complying with the spirit of the sub, not to implement rules blindly like a bot. Otherwise I can just write a bot and no need for mods.

I have noticed. I understand the frustration of the users but if we ever get automod, people will have their posts removed if it doesn't contain a "?". By /u/she posting and telling people, it is a reminder. I'm hesitant to say "training users" because we aren't animals but it is essentially like that.

Mob rage is understandable but keeping in mind that it goes both ways should deter people from seeking it.

Yeah, I think automod might have at least delayed this witch hunt. People get a lot more angry when a front page post is deleted than when a new post is. Conspiratards and the FPH crowd have been out to get she for a while now, though, so they were searching for some kind of an excuse. It would've happened eventually.

I'm just amazed at the hypocrisy people are showing. Leave reddit because they're all being punished for expressing opinions...and then try to punish she for expressing an opinion. I just don't understand it.
