Reddit default - voat has no defaults when you create an account

At the top of my screen I see: "front all random newsubverses introductions news videos technology science music gaming aww books gifs sports tv programming goats movies politics AskVoat pics religion atheism ideasforvoat funny announcements subverserequest whatever IAMA" I'm assuming these are default subs, no? The only difference I see is that you don't need to go and delete them from your account (or maybe I did and forgot)

No, so far the only "terrible" moderation I've seen is strict enforcement of rule 1.

There are 7 mods here, and they aren't all here all the time. A single person can only catch so much before they get tired or you know, want to go enjoy the site. If you have an issue with selective application of rule one you have a problem with the mods that don't remove threads based on rule 1. The idea behind rule one is to remove subjectivity from the mods, they don't have to decide if something is a question or not because it automatically is a question with a question mark. If you didn't strictly enforce rule one you would have the same problem you're complaining about, selective application based on subjective mod's opinion. Problem is not all the mods are strictly enforcing the rule.

Can you link to some others that have violated that rule and have not been deleted?

Rule 1 is stupid.

I found quite a few posts removed for reasons other than rule 1 in which she was heavy handedly applying "no spam" etc. Look harder.

I copied this from my previous comment:

https://voat.co/v/AskVoat/comments/401467 - This was deleted about 2 hours ago by @she. The reason given was: "Spam, marketing, clickbait, self-promotion & soap boxing are not allowed"

The voat user was asking for peoples thoughts/opinions on a rough draft "mod guideline" proposal.

She later said it belonged in a different sub. But this is still very much a relevant topic to be asking the askvoat community directly.

Uhh, wtf? Don't talk about the sub in the sub? Where are people supposed to talk about it? That makes no sense whatsoever. At most, a tiny fraction of people are even going to bother trying to figure out where/what the secret sub is and the entirely defeats the purpose of asking the whole sub for feedback.

there were little to no shady moderation actions thus far.

What do you make of this?

Any proof of it being real instead of made with firebug? Screenshots don't prove anything when pages or so easily faked.

The deleted post was not in defense of the user's spamming. It was a perfectly valid observation, and it was censored.

Why don't you ask for mod privileges yourself? That's what I think I'm going to do.

I've kind of lurked on here forever. My qualifications are I think I'm a decent enough guy and I have some spare time. I'm going to start engaging in the comments here to qualify myself and then apply.

oh. I'm just kind of thinking more along the lines of trying to save what we have. Jumping to a new sub splits the userbase, seems unhealthy for a small site IMO

I don't understand the motivation of the owner's of Voat. Surely they know the reason for their growth, practically the reason for their existence at all is because the SJW have completely ruined Reddit. Voat's success is still too tenuous to allow those evil sociopaths ANY power at all.

On the surface my statement sounds discriminatory - even to me. But that's the thing really. They are using the rules of our society to gain power. And when they get power their actions are identical to every tyrant throughout recorded history. Thus while I will defend a racist's right to be an asshole in public these people cannot be allowed our moral sanction on any level.

They are after Power and they mean to TAKE it. It is the job of every free person in the world to stop the SJW cancer. One does not explain the logical shortcomings of his chosen lifestyle to a mass murderer. There is no reasoning with evil.

If Voat allows SJWs to gain even a tiny bit of power it will be game over for this site. Want to know how you deal with this kind of monster? Look how Egypt handled the Muslim Brotherhood. Morally they are indistinguishable.
