If you are far from home I imagine all you have to do is walk outside to meet someone new.

Having a few hobbies might help, too.

I wish the neighborhood I'm in is pretty dated and mostly elderly couples I'll have to start going to the park more often

If that's your thing. Find where things happen that you like to do.

Whoah, I feel your pain. The drinking age in this country is fucking stupid.

I would try meetup.com probably, it's just a site where tons of people arrange meetups on any topic imaginable. Works best in large cities of course.

What are your hobbies? Find a meetup for them.

Do you play music? Find and join a band in Craigslist.

Do you believe in any sort of higher power? Going to religious services can be a good way to meet people.

Do you believe strongly for any political issue? Joining a campaign as a volunteer for a particular candidate, or even joining an interest group for a cause your are passionate about are good ways to meet like minded people.

I've moved many times and it sucks the first six months no matter how hard you try. Just relax and give it time. It will get better!!

Depends how young you are. I mean, all i'm saying is does anybody really care about the alcohol age?

I mean you won't be able to go clubs (18+ if UK, 21+ if USA), so really it's inviting existing friends round your house and telling them they can bring others. You then meet the others, and boom. Or just go to a friends party and meet the new peeps there.

Other than that, well, phew, urm, the gym?

The existing friends is the hard part and I don't think my cousin drinks

Hmm. That's tricky then. You always need the "party friend" who knows where all the shit is going down at.

That's what's great about the UK drinking laws. No-one gives a shit about them :D

Do you have any hobbies, if not, you certainly will have things that interest you, right?

Perhaps seek out online communities that cater to such hobbies, or your tastes.

If e-friends are not suitable, then you could try picking up a sport, and joining a club. Or picking up a gym membership and trying your luck there.

Note: This advice is terrible, and under no circumstances should you use it in an attempt to gain friends.

Use meetup.com or start taking a an art class or some other type of class somewhere. Use plenty of fish or OK cupid and just look for friends. There are lots of potential options. (=
