In my experience, "concern trolling" is nothing more than a term some people use on this site to say "I don't agree with you". It's a weird label that is used to discredit people without actually offering anything of merit as a counter argument.

Perhaps people are misusing the term. But now that you know what it means you can call them out when it is misused.

In the example I gave it is clearly concern trolling because the alternative argument being made is that we should not discuss certain things.

I see the term misused more often than not, to be honest; usually as a way to discredit someone's argument rather than address them directly.

The whole point of Voat, from what I've seen, is free speech rules, whether some like it or not. So IMHO post what you like and damn what others say. They're just trying to censor ... never good.

My feelings are that concern trolling is generally bad and a form of censorship by misdirection. It attacks the right to discuss something rather than the points being made by the opponent. At the very least I think we should reject any concern trolling on default subs.

I want to see if others feel the same way or not.
