Constantly. I've suffered from it since I was a teenager. So do my dad and my brother. I've come to terms with it, and now is little more than an annoyance.

I cannot stress this enough: there is nothing supernatural about it, its just a harmless medical condition (albeit with no treatment yet). What you perceive is a mixture between your environment (if your eyes are open, sometimes they're not) and a dream. It may be vivid and terrifying, but its just a dream. I know this with absolute certainty as I'm also a lucid dreamer, I can tell when I'm dreaming every time. Which is also why I'm never scared during the episodes, just annoyed.

As a tip for anyone suffering this, lucid dreaming can be learnt with some training. Its of immense help if you're a chronic sufferer like me. And please disregard the movie. Don't be scared, you can tame it like I did.
