If by saving them you mean recording them then yes. I don't think it's necessary to have a culture to speak it though. Just have it on record for a historical insight on how a certain group spoke.

This is the right way.

It is good to record and archive language as history if they come to disappear. It's not worth it to try to "save" language as a cultural thing when they disappear by themselves. Record them, but don't enforce them.
