I didn't know where the best place to ask this would be, so here I am. Seems like as good a place as any. :p
Without getting into a big story, back when my ex and I were together he had added an additional line onto his cell phone account for me, and I got a phone at the same time. When we broke up, he disconnected my line. That was a nice thing to wake up and find out. Anyway, I stuck the phone on straight talk. Well, he wants money for "my half" of the last phone bill that he racked up a bunch of data charges on. I just ignored him, because fuck that guy. I've spent enough money on him (he is the reason my savings account currently has $0.12 in it; lesson learned), plus he's already disconnected my line and the account is under his name. He can deal with it.
Well, he just said if I don't give him the money he's going to file a claim that the phone is stolen. Which pisses me off. It's my phone, I bought it.
So here's my question. Since the line is disconnected and the phone now has a straight talk sim card in it instead of the Verizon one that was in it when I got the phone, if he reports it as stolen can they do anything about it? What would happen? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't know how all of this stuff works. If he can't actually do anything, I'll probably just tell him to go fuck himself. But if it could potentially become a mess, it's not worth dealing with the police or whatever (if that would happen) over $180. What do you think, Voat?

Good to know. There's pictures of me on that phone dating all the way back to last February when I got the thing, so obviously it's not stolen, and it's pretty obviously my phone.
I was worried too about Verizon shutting the thing off if it gets reported as being stolen. Any chance of that happening?
