No. While the exact amount of fossil fuels remaining is questionable it is an ultimately finite resource. We already have the technology to be a post fossil-fuel society. The only thing holding us back is capitalist interests and politics - a large part of it certainly being our dependence on the petrodollar to back our currency. Intentionally becoming more reliant on a strictly limited resource is just stupid. Another issue is that taken to extremes green house effects are simply not survivable. The reason Venus's surface temperature is hot enough to melt lead, hotter even than Mercury which is right next to the sun, is because of a runaway greenhouse effect. It's unclear where exactly we'd be on the greenhouse effect if we burned all fossil fuels with reckless abandon given that they are indeed finite, but it's a pretty dumb experiment to try. It's no-win and I think that sums up fossil fuels in general. It's simply time to move on.
