This is my first post om voat, and really my first serious online post ever.
I have some thoughts about distribution og wealth in the world, and how difficult it is to make a difference for individuals by donating money or used items. The overhead of the organisations managing donations will always take a huge cut of the initial input. And then what? How to distribute the income to individuals is tricky too.
When you donate some of your stuff to a local institution, it will most probably be sold locally by someone who is probably not aware of the real value. That is why people are hunting for bargains in such places, wich of course is positive in some ways. If stuff is sent abroad, there are tons of challenges with oversight, shipping costs, import taxes etc.
Why not donate things directly to people who could make the most of it for themselves or for donating the income. Someone out there who have an internet connection and plenty of time could likely get a lot more out of things than a local donation will.
Of course there would be challenges with distribution, shipping, customs, stolen goods, greed etc anyhow. I still think some kind of direct distribution could be more effective and useful.
The thing is, I have lots of things. Small thing that are relatively easy to ship. I'm not sure how to do this practical and managable. I'm not in a situation in life where I can create an intricate system for something like this myself.
If someone needs some extra income, or wants to raise funds for donations, I am willing to donate some of my stuff to see how it goes. How you do it is up to you. Online sales or if your friends likes this kinds of things, this is your choice. You could also divide the coins in smaller lots and distribute to others.
I will donate 3 pacages of collectible older coins, and I will also pay for shipping to anywhere in the world. The coins as a lot are not very valuable. Maybe 10 USD or so per pound in my part of the world. Some coins might be a little more valuable, but not anything to get much out of without a lot of work. I have more coins than knowledge about them myself, but I believe most coins could be sold for minimum 1 USD. If posted online, the buyers decides the value.
Any takers on this? I have not yet decided how to choose, but I will probably let you know in a day or two. Knowledge about coins is positive, but not neccessary. Ideas about contributions for developing a system for distribution are also welcomed.
I also would like some comments from anyone with opinions about this very brief summary of my idea. I`m sure someone has done something like this allready. Hopefully this is worth an effort to do in a lot of ways.

That would involve me asking for some kind of investment, I think. Thx for your concern.
