Pac NW here. When the cascadia subduction zone slips the giant quake and tsunami is anticipated to be the worst natural disaster in this continent's recorded history.

Living in a rural area (just outside Portland), it's likely we'd have no running water or electricity for up to a year and FEMA would take up to a week to reach us. Thousands upon thousands dead and pretty much every city west of and including Portland and Seattle destroyed.

It's about 300 years since the last one and the typical frequency is every 200 years. Fingers crossed.

Plus p town is full of building not up to code for earthquakes.
