Well originally I come from the old Commander Keen BBS board, but that was in the old old days, the time before time. After that grew up I spent a lot of time in IRC (usenet I think?) and eventually Geocities grew up and I was around there. In the late 90's I frequented the official Unreal Tournament vBoards (GTF!) and then when those changed hands and went to shit I moved with the rest to the GTFRC (Refugee Camp). Eventually from there I moved to Digg and did that for a few years, when Reddit was little I would lurk and occasionally post. When Digg went under I was a part of the Great Migration to Reddit. Now as Reddit chokes out I've transitioned to here.

No looking back.

I didn't really care when Digg went under...watching reddit die is tough.. but at least this place is swinging!

Digg went down over night, literally, for me. So it was really jarring. At the time I remember thinking "God I hate Reddit's setup it looks like ass, but oh well" now I love it.

Watching Reddit go down, for me, is kind of face palm. Its like watching them hand the keys to the largest and most successful forum in the history of the internet over to fucking 14 year olds who've never moderated anything larger than their Pinterest "look what I ate" blog.

Sooo many noob managerial mistakes that I've seen happen hundreds of times in amateur forums across the internet is now killing the greatest website on the web.

Nice. I migrated from IRC to reddit/fark (skipped the Digg/chan phase) about 8-ish years ago. Abandoned fark a few years back and reddit last month. So far I'm liking it here.

reporting live from Brazil, where people march against the government and forgets about it the next day!

That's pretty much the same thing we do up here. Then 2 years later, we vote for the exact same government we marched against.

I started posting on Reddit a few months ago. Quickly realized what a shit community it is and came here instead. I am having a much better time here. The community is much better here. Not as much arguing just for the sake of being a fucking jackass.

Good on you for realizing so quick. I've been there two and a half years and finally took the step to leave today.

Kansas City, currently trending on the pop radar. It's a nice place to live, cost of living is low, arts are vibrant. No serious nature around unless you drive to the Ozarks, the weather 's atrocious. The air pressure's chaotic here so if have sinus issues forget it. There is a lively sense of community, we have an amazing art gallery and lots of creative types. In the midtown area the County Club Plaza is almost like a park where you can shop, and there are trees everywhere.
