Do you honestly mean to tell me someone has been running a catastrophic DDOS attack against Voat since at least May?
FIVE MONTHS? Do you realize how expensive it is to rent an unimaginably powerful bot net for THAT LONG?
Why haven't reddit or their venture capitalist investors been brought to court for launching this DDOS attack against Voat? It's obviously them with their $50 million war chest, so why are they getting away with it?
Maybe Voat's investors should try to lure an employee at reddit into blowing the whistle on this DDOS attack. Offer a $250,000 bounty for anyone with proof that reddit is behind the DDOS attack. You will recoup the paltry $250,000 investment after reddit is completely abandoned by the userbase in favor of Voat. Not a single soul will stay on reddit once they find out reddit was behind the DDOS attack against Voat from day one. Think about it.
tl;dr: Has Voat really been under a non-stop DDOS attack since May?

Answer: Probably. There are a lot of sites out there that don't like the free speech Voat offers. They have a lot of cash between them, and I wouldn't put it past them.

Plus, it's much easier to start a DDoS than it is to stop it.

Seriously. All these sites have a ton of servers between them, it wouldn't be hard for them to do a massive DDoS.
