Professional Victims. I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of anything else.

Eh, professional implies that they are good enough to get paid. I would lean more towards semi-professional victims.

Well, nowadays they pretty much do get paid.

Amateur victims then.

Some of them actually do get paid to be Professional Victims. I use the term more in the respect that this is their profession. They profess victimization and what not, hence the term.

How about Delusional Victims?

isnt their victim hood under threat given that affirmative action seems to have worked?!

hypothesizing here..

But in their mind it can never work, because it can never go far enough. Their goalposts change as society changes, that's one reason people dislike them, they will never be happy with any concession and they have no victory, only constant victimhood that extends into the future forever.

A more accurate term from the beginning would've been Social Media Justice Warriors. This recent wave of hyper-militant, third-wave-feminist political correctness wouldn't have happened if not for the rise of social media and the phenomenon of whoring for attention, followers, Likes, and the integration of the Internet into the lives of non-computer nerds.

Every time I see "SMW" I think of Super Mario World. I'd rather think of that than these asshats every time I see "SMW".

I've been dealing with their sorts for longer than facebook has existed, since before "Social Media" were words that were commonly used together. This phenomenon may be amplified by social media, but it is not unique to or limited to social media.

They aren't Fascists. Orwell is rolling in his fucking grave. Fascism is an actual political doctrine, not just an umbrella term for authoritarians or bullies.

Yeah. Most people that are called neo-fascists don't fit the definition.

As a fascist-leaning conservative, I agree. Fascism is more than authoritarianism.

Why don't you just ignore them and deny them the power you claim they seek?

[–] Link1299 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

you know... words can be powerful, but just like any true power, it is only as strong as you let the aggressor be

words have only as much strength as you the listener give them.

I mean self defense allows you to disempower physical strength without requiring matched strength.

The same goes for words. Callousness is not a bad thing, and usually the best way to deal with pain is to learn how to handle it, rather than prevent it.

Man I'm getting a bit preachy today... here's this to balance it out a bit http://i.imgur.com/KC6IC06.jpg

The problem is, YOU ignoring them doesn't stop people in positions of authority from listening to them. If EVERYONE would agree to ignore them, yes, ignoring would be a great solution. But people AREN'T going to ignore them. Passively ignoring them is not going to be enough. Look at what happened to Reddit or Github. Can we ignore that away? I say we can't. I say we need to provide a counterpoint, an active message that this sort of authoritarian bullying is unacceptable and incompatible with a free society.

Because ignoring them does not work. We ignored them for years and they just grew out of control and spread like weeds. They gained reddit, they gained 4 chan, they infected a lot of geek culture, shaming people to do what they want or accuse people of being rape supporters, homophobes, racists..etc. No, we cannot ignore them, we have to attack them and call them out on their bullshit at every chance.

I like the term "outragists" from Scott Adams better. It's not the exact usage he intended, but I think it works.

I'll be using that term from now on thanks. Amazing how that one word can mentally conjure up the imagery of an SJW so well.

No because there are new actual fascist parties that oppose SJWs.
