The sun moves around the galaxy, the Earth moves around the sun, and the Earth rotates. Nevermind the fact that relativity says that there is no way to tell whether a location is the same or not.
I would be heartbroken. As I type this, I am within a few miles of a Civil War battlefield. I would be curious to know what I would see but I am not sure I want to know.
In general, it would be kinda awesome. It may answer some questions about history.
It'd certainly be fascinating to watch a battle from every (or many) soldier's perspective. On the sites of more recent skirmishes it could be used to improve tactics.
Assuming it could be accurate enough to let people know what room in the house you're in, all of my family and friends would be like " why does he spend 45 minutes in the bathroom three times a day?"
My guess is that the biggest impacts it would have are on crime and history. As far as crimes go, investigations would be simplified significantly and courts would no longer need to rely on witness testimony. Meanwhile, criminals would have incentive to ensure crimes were committed in inaccessible locations, and disguises were used even when there were no witnesses. Many past mysteries would be cleared up, and I'm guessing a considerable number of convictions would be overturned.
As far as history goes, historians could determine with near complete accuracy what transpired in the past. This would be revolutionary for the field - competing hypotheses could be easily tested, myths could be established or rejected with certainty, dead languages could be revived, and so forth.

Fair call. I did mean same location on Earth, but I wasn't explicit, so I'll pay that!

I think it would be even more fascinating if some of it turned out to be true - then we'd have to contemplate whether it was aliens or what behind it.

People would probably fuck in hotel rooms a lot less

It might improve the sale prices of houses of attractive people. Hotels could probably sell it as a porn channel!
