Instead of moving, organize voters in your area to elect public officials who will take a stand against the degredation you speak of. No matter where you go, this is necessary sooner or later. All that is necessary for evil to flourish.....

South Africa

Doesn't that country have rising racial tensions between the black people and the white people?

Can you talk to Swiss more, I am interested in this. I actually met a small village Swiss girl this summer and think it would be cool to live with her there. The only difficulty I have is language, work, visa and cost other than that Swiss is cool.

That's a negative ghost rider on the South Africa.... Those who have left the place are considered lucky.

I would say Italy, in the north east. Good industry, natural borders, good family centric society, great food, long history, etc just buy in the country. Money goes a long way in the country.

Goto canada. It's like literally exactly the same as the states with a little less BS. Odds are in October we'll lose our conservative government for a more socialist one.

I heard they are adapting more American ways? Would you agree?

Not the OP, but it always seems when we protest something here it usually works. We are becoming a bit more US-like, but this upcoming election seems poised to change that. Harper (our Prime Minister) has been pushing his personal agenda on Canada too far and a fair number of voters are ready to vote him out (we basically let people stay PM until they quit or show too much of their hand). The front runner Mulcair looks really strong, and it'll be canada's first socialist government, who give lip service to things like being in favour of science and against spying, but we'll just have to see. Also universal healthcare is a plus regardless of political climate.

You don't have hard protections for freedom of speech in Canada.

While its not as hard cut and clear as USA's first amendment, it's one of the next best countries you can goto.

I get that the U.S. has issues but depending on your political views there is nowhere better. Then again you might enjoy socialism or communism.

I feel that way too. Like, every country has its issues. And the grass IS NOT greener on the other side IMO. if someone wants to avoid government, the move to the country, shun technology, and be self sustaining.

They'll take your land for that now too, depending on where you go.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that most Voaters are aware that there isn't a single country left that is free of bullshit of any sort.

I've lived in a few places, and while at first you remain disconnected from what's happening around you, after a while the facade starts to crumble. One solution would be to move to a new country every year or so... Another solution is to stop caring, stop reading the news, and stop anyone who brings up a subject you dislike. You'll be living in a virtual utopia of sorts (I know some people like that).

Now, for all practical purposes, I enjoy living in third-world countries were corruption is rampant because a little money buys you absolute freedom.

No where, unless you plan on giving up communication - TV, Internet, Radio, Phone, Texting and then "live" in international waters.

If you're wealthy enough you could have most of that in international waters. Though not the same quality/speed/etc.
