i like free speech. give em some containment boards and watch for organized attacks coming from them. let em bitch, but just watch them. most illegal content is posted by SJW's in an attempt to shut down a site that advocates for free uncensored speech. haters gonna hate, don't feed the trolls the eat enough already.

Only ones with organized attacks seems to be /v/protectvoat, but then again I guess you could make an argument that they're SJWs who hate other SJWs. They're SJW hipsters.

When mods like she & shiny implement their own agenda on one of the largest default sub, isn't that an organized attack?
Bear in mind that nothing short of Atko's effective intervention worked.

Just posted a relevant comment (that got buried) elsewhere

Pretty ironic that he's whining about not being [selected as] a mod (looking for social justice) after saying social justice issues are "almost entirely bullshit".

Edit: It's not fair; why can't you let me be free from your social justice!!!

As I've said elsewhere and repeatedly, II prefer the term FSW (Free Speech Warrior), to differentiate. Their alleged platform is free-speech, not social-justice, and they are as effective at forwarding the cause of free-speech as SJWs are at forwarding the cause of social justice (i.e. not at all, and in fact they're deleterious more often than helpful).

Usually goes something like this, but instead of hammers, it's mass censorship: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_glneK1YkP8

https://voat.co/v/ProtectVoat/comments/425861/1898607 - In this post I called out the guy calling for @PuttItOut to be removed as admin. I'd also like to point out (and you can look for yourself) the guy who posted this thread has some of the highest downvoats given I've ever seen.

https://voat.co/v/Showerthoughts/comments/448119/2053661 - Just examples of brigading. Ain't no thang.

Edit: As much as I don't particularly like She's moderation and drama, they also called for (and @atko linked this) a censorship brigade against that user.

If you want a deeper understanding look up Cultural Marxism. There is some decent videos on youtube and the wiki will give you the history.

I agree. I don't want us to become what we are fighting against. Anyone should be allowed to speak their mind no matter how unpopular it may be here. They may be downvoated to oblivion, but they still have the right to say it and thats how the site works. If people are forming subs to coordinate activities to intentionally harm the site through false flag, brigading or the like, those subs and users should be banned but the admins need to keep the process above board by explicitly stating the reasons for a ban and showing evidence to justify it.

I'm all for allowing them to participate in discussion, but they've proven time & time again that they can't be trusted with power over others.

No censorship is no censorship. If some SJW's are happy to rant and scream and have their feelings hurt here, then we should let them. We're the place that doesn't exclude people for their offensive points of view, remember? That doesn't mean we make them feel welcome or agree with them. I don't hate black people or fat people. But I'm very happy to be part of a community where people are free to express those views without censorship.

The problem is that SJW's have this need to make the outside world comfortable for them, and fuck that shit, you motherfucking cunts. Hands off. No censorship. Not for feelings. Not for "safe places." But also not to get rid of SJW's, as long as they keep their hands to themselves and use the vote and post buttons like everyone else.

Totally agree here. I have no love for SJWs, but fuck anyone that wants to censor them. That would just make us the other end of the horseshoe.

That would make us the SJWs. Just the other side.

Who wants to censor them? I don't see anyone talking about CENSORING them. What I do see is people talking about taking them out of a position where they can harm the site. not gagging them, but taking the detonator out of the toddler's hands before he throws a tantrum.

At the same time, they should be banned from positions in which they can censor others. But this isn't restricted to SJWs, anyone who actively wants to censor others should not be in a position of power.

[–] Easybee 2 points 16 points (+18|-2) ago

This, a million times over. You cannot legislate free speech. This is the very behavior that brings SJWs condemnation. If we become what we fight, how have we won?

As for the issue of SJWs becoming mods and abusing those positions to enact the same censorship proposed by this very post, it is up to us as a community to order things to prevent such abuse while upholding the values we so cherish.

Barring the people you disagree with does not uphold those values, and in fact builds the same distopia we collectively deride.

Look at me, I'm free speech now.

Or... you know... don't because I'm simply making a joke.

Or... you know... do, because I'm so sexy.

Exactly. 100% agree. If we start excluding groups of people like SJWs, we become just as bad as them.

Actually I enjoy seeing them get rekt here and there. As long as they can't silence others and impose their ridiculousness via bans, I say bring em on.

[–] Tb0n3 1 points 10 points (+11|-1) ago

Yeah. We need to allow discussion but keep any one group from gaining full control and destroying voat too.

[–] milliamp 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

When given the authority they silence opposing views every time. If that is your view of the world you should NEVER be allowed to mod any default or main sub like news etc.

They are organized because they are permitted to organize and they categorically plan out how to take out their opponents right to speak and they will do it here too.

Many downvoats cause posts and comments to be ranked very low, and low scoring comments are automatically collapsed. As such, with a minimally organized effort it is possible for users to censor other users, even if they can't necessarily delete content outright.

[–] Kopis 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

That's a good point. Too bad we can't rely on rely on them respecting honorable debate instead of resorting to underhanded tactics. Maybe my original comment was expecting too much from them and assuming they hold themselves to the same standards as everyone else.

I'm not in favor of having users pass some type of bullshit purity test. I that that Voat is just better off focusing on real free speech, and not some watered-down, corporate version. The more tools and policies Voat can implement to enshrine that principle will help keep SJWs from infecting this site with the type of censorship they so successfully infected reddit with. When they find out that their brand of bullshit can't be forced on people here, they'll probably not be too interested in hanging around anyway.

You have to realize that this is simply a bunch of people sitting around all day with nothing better to do than go online. They have no real lives nor careers, so they have ample opportunity to impose their presence more so than others. That fact alone will give them serious advantage in carrying out their agendas online.

however, let them speak, but let them also be spoken to. Rudely, if a user so chooses.

Just to add on they also help each other in increasing their presence so if one sees this then they all see this

One of the strongest values on Voat is free speech so they should be allowed to express their opinions. Just as everyone else should have the freedom to disagree with them and deconstruct any weak arguments they make.

No we upvoat social justice warriors here. Isn't that what voat is for? Social: communication. Justice: virtue from our leaders (Socrates style). Warriors: war, shit, and Valhalla.
