I listen to primarily synthpop. Its kind of a blend of rock and house (my other favorite genres); moody/depressing lyrics with electronic loops and guitars. I like to branch of internationally, so I'm listening to UK, German, Dutch, and Swedish synthpop.
I also listen to a lot of hip hop. I'm into the mixtape culture, mostly because its free, but also because I like listening to experimental tracks. It satisfies me to know that an artist is creating music not because it'll sell like hot-cakes, but instead to take rap in a new direction.
Violin sonatas and partitas are also a thing I'm into. I'm currently limited only to Bach and Tartini, but I'm trying to find more artists who can please me with the whine of the violin.

I listen to whatever sounds I happen to like, though I won't lie to myself and say I'm not a bit pretentious and generally avoid most newer popular music - the type of stuff you hear on the radio. I also tend to like stuff that does something new or interesting, such as this sweet bluegrass/black metal fusion album. I listen to a decent amount of beat tapes (or whatever the proper term is, honestly I don't know) like stuff off this compilation. I also like listening to a lot of experimental/noise type stuff, in specific I'd say Hal Mcgee (and friends).
On top of all that I'm also a sucker for older music, pretty much anything 1980ish back I enjoy.
Right now "Because the Internet" by Childish Gambino is my probably most played. I picked it up during Christmas, and I absolutely love the story and songs.
Overall though I usually am more pop-punk or classic rock.
