The lack of original content providers.

This is my biggest problem with Voat. I run a few subverses, and most days I'm the only one contributing any content.

I've made the past 4 submissions over the past 3 days in /v/PS4, a sub with almost 2k subscribers.

As a member of pcmasterrace, I appreciate that you take time to expand that subverse and it's community.

"Build it, and they will come."

Until then, have an upvoat for the job well done.

I am the only person who has submitted content (2 links) to one subverse in the last two weeks. A part of me feels like people will accuse me of monopolizing that subverse but I just have content I want to share. I hope that it will encourage more people to contribute, both in submissions and comments.

Check out /v/news and /v/worldnews subscribers and then look at the number of posts.

I post in my subverses as much as possible but not many subscribers. But, we shall see. I think eventually we will grow here and since Reddit has never really modernized past its glaring blue links, cluttered look and still no mobile, I think we soon be getting people from there. They have to learn a new way of doing things but that is what MySpace to FB and the white pages to 411.com is and Blockbuster stores to Netflix innovating from CD's in the mail to streaming to their own shows is all about.

The anti-SJW group dominating every thread with how much SJWs should die - being anti-SJW SJWs basically. The FPH circlejerk. The anti-foreign/black crowd. While that other site feels like a corporate lobbying field, where people try to please everyone/the corporation that holds all the power, Voat sometimes feels like the boonies with a bunch of rednecks ranting about people trying to take away their gun rights or w.e. Sometimes, I just want to chill you know? And the best parts of Voat are definitely chill.

I agree completely. I live in rural conservative KY and Voat reminds me of people posting on our local news sites. The other site maybe getting too corporate but it still feels like an intelligent escape from the ignorant crap I hear on a daily basis.

That's the shitty elements of Reddit spilling over into fresh waters. Eventually things will calm down and they won't be as forefront as they are now, hopefully. I can only take so much bigoted, racist, fuck humanity, ignorant, pro-corporate bullshit in one day. Thankfully you can tailor your experience depending on how much crap you are willing to be shoveled at any given point, that helps.

Somehow, downvoats are being used improperly despite how many people clarify the use of them and how they use them.

I've seen plenty of opinions with many downvoats, even though it adds to the discussion.

I can here to say this. Expect for a few outliers, /r/politics, I am starting to think that Reddit was less of an echo chamber than Voat. It seems like only the most unreasonable people made the transition. So much celebrated ignorance on Voat. I think some of these people actually think that high ranking company/political people sit around all day scheming of ways to oppress the masses. "Microsoft is reading my data via windows 10," "Monsanto is poisoning the world via GMOs," "Bernie Sanders/Donald Trump could win the presidency." So many bad ideas are echoed and downvoting is used to silence an opposition.

As a hired internet thug, do you really think you should be commenting on something like this?

I love almost everything about Voat, but I'm tired of having my bits checked.

I had to post a lengthy comment on my upload. Bits checked and lost the whole thing.

I've had this happen a few times, Just press the back button twice after it's done checking your bits.

I agree. I don't know what they're hoping to find, but as an instantaneous-gratification junkie, having to wait between clicking and arriving is a pain. I haven't lost stuff as /u/LemonCookie24 did, and I'd be even more annoyed if that had happened.

How my front page is really only populated by a half dozen of the default subs even though I'm subscribed to dozens. The defaults often have newer stuff but I rarely see anything from most of the subs I'm subscribed to.

Because for a lot of us, they fucked up reddit and shoved us out.

Not just reddit. I live in Seattle. I frequently see SJW's target people in real life. They went after a high school student in the area recently for wearing bronzer because they thought it was cultural appropriation and they nearly drove her to the point of suicide. Other times I've seen them target rape victims and the mentally ill for not holding to their status quo. They're bad news here in Seattle and most people here are too feminized to stand up to them.

Who is us? None of the drama on Reddit has touched the subs I frequent. How where you shoved out?

The islamophobia and racicsm, but then again I don't hate it exactly , I love debating with people and perhaps getting my views across. But people here are quick to jump on the bandwagon without all the facts in hand. I guess this is the famous hivemind.
