Almost a thousand people want them gone.

All the mods have done to address complaints is double down on their position, change the wording of rule one, and properly punctuate the sidebar.

I'm pretty sure they're hoping it'll just blow over. It's up to the users to keep the issues fresh in everyone's mind long enough for them to actually do something.

You may be right, but I seriously doubt it will blow over. Having a major sub like this de-listed by Voat's creator because of mod shenanigans seems like a pretty big deal. If that isn't a sign of "no-confidence" from the very top, I don't know what is.

Two of the three active mods here only have 2 months as members--basically the same as me. I don't feel entitled to be a mod, let alone a mod of a major sub like this. And after fucking shit up as bad as they've done, can anyone really argue that they're irreplaceable or that they've earned the right (over their 2 month memberships) to stay on in such a key position?

When reddit subs went "black" during the recent crisis, one of the astute observations I heard in the media was how stupid it was for reddit to have given so much power to the mods. In reddit's case, the mods used it against the company...but here at Voat the threat seems to be that new users have been given mod powers over large, critical subverses and basically run amok with no accountability.

Went back to reddit, voat is no different.

Not picking sides here, just pointing out that more users can upvoat than can downvoat, so the voating system isn't well-suited for poll taking.

That was pointed out in the referenced thread.
