I opened the adobe program in my program files folder, and it's showing me some settings for it. There's a note it in that says "the settings on this page are not applicable to google chrome or chromium based browsers (ppapi)" then there's a link to "learn more" about flash in those browsers.

On a separate note, I went to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nvs3RgRR7KQ and I did what it said. It clearly shows a standalone flashplayer separate from the browser, but I couldn't get the program to work like they show in the video. The program doesn't show up in the list of programs when I go to open the swf file, and I tried opening it with most of what i saw i program files, and nothing has worked so far.

I am using Chrome version Version 86.0.4240.198.

Maybe:

"the settings on this page are not applicable to google chrome or chromium based browsers (ppapi)"

means that the settings in that program do not modify the browser settings, though that program does allow the browsers to run Flash, but still additionally Flash would need to be unblocked in the browser settings.

I got the standalone player to work in that tutorial, and that's what I wanted, so i'm going to use that from meow on
