It does make a pretty good "idiot test", to make sure people read the sidebar. It could probably be stated clearer, though, like "titles must include a question mark". Also might make people less angry if we get an automoderator running on Voat and set that up to remove things.

Reposting my previous comment on this issue as it's relevant to what you've said here.

The thread in question has since been deleted for violating rule number one (All posts must have a question mark.). This caused another backlash with cries of censorship.

I have an issue with this, Rule 1 does not state that all posts must have a question mark. Rule 1 currently states that all posts must include a question.
Proper grammar dictates that a question is proceeded with a question mark, however people can fuck this up because people. No, I didn't accidentally a word in that sentence

If you want all posts to have a question mark in the title then please change the wording of Rule 1 to reflect this requirement. What is happening currently is that posts are being removed because they violate an implied rule but in no way violate any actual written rules.

[Off topic] Having just read this article posted here, I'd like to give a big shout out Fuck You to anyone *triggered* by my use of the word violate.

Yeah, I think by 'question "?"' they meant 'question mark', but that's really not how you're supposed to write it. Next time I catch she or Shiny in IRC, I'll make that recommendation, as well as recommending they loosen up a bit in regards to that rule. No guarantees they'll accept either, though.

Yes, I agree! If the post is not removed quickly enough, it obviously leads to issues.
