You've gotta read a bit and it's been updated a couple of days ago. It's now roughly 10k, but these are really estimates, not counts. And having a comorbitity doesn't mean covid didn't kill you, it just means there was a lot going on that could kill you. If you really want to understand the death impact of the Democrat's campaign strategy, you'll need to compare the monthly death rate per 100,000 this year vs the last few years. Covid deaths are probably less significant than other factors like suicide, isolation, lost access to healthcare, and other economic factors. Suspect that we missed some highway deaths and may have avoided some flu deaths. Don't be surprised if the death rate for the year is even lower than usual.

For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death.
