Women are typically less risk tolerant than men, and also far more focused on their social in-group than men who're typically more individualistic. This manifests in a couple of ways and leads to women often being found:
1) Clubbing with their BFFs. Do not waste your time on this. They're all young, dumb, looking for attention, and not looking for a relationship (think of it as the real world equivalent of instagram THOTs who just want likes without commitment).
2) Church. This tends to skew a bit older and more mature. If you're religious it's an option.
3) Already at home with babies. They're off the market and rarely leave the house for social gatherings because Little Timmy was never raised well enough to be taken out in public without flipping out within fifteen minutes.
4) At private social events. Being less risk tolerant than men, women are less likely to drop into a random event to make friends (whether that's a HAM radio meeting or a new cigar lounge). To gain access to these private events acquire some basic social skills if you dont already have them, pickup some approachable hobbies to talk about, and take up your friends' invitations to go do stuff. If you're an enjoyable conversationalist, those invitations tend to snowball. E.g. if I'm talking with new people I'll bring up some of my relatively approachable hobbies like winemaking, hiking, and ballroom dancing. Knowing what a space marine is or how to leverage temperature inversions to increase transmission range...not so much. At least not until you know they share a niche interest.
5) Staying at home with their cats and white wine wondering why they cant find no man. These typically get fat from inactivity in short order, and also comprise a hefty portion of the population.
6) At very girly activities. Girls day at the spa, yoga class, etc. Probably not your thing.
If your goal is to "get da gurls" rather than simple curiosity as to why your Warhammer 40k convention is a sausage fest, try the following:
1) Acquire some interesting hobbies that are relatively approachable.
2) The gym is now your part time job.
3) Take up friends on social invitations ("Hey, we're grilling out this weekend, want to come over?")
