Archived What's the deal with social gatherings having far more men than women, on average. I've been to social gatherings with wide ranging types of people, and there's almost always more men than women. why? (AskVoat)

It's usually not even close to a 1 to 1 ratio either. One of the last social gatherings I went to had about 9 women for every 10 men, and it was blown away at the different dynamic to the whole setting.
Then I started thinking back, and I realized it's often that there are far more men at these gatherings than women. Why is that? Is it because women aren't going out when they're menstruating or what?
