[SERIOUS] Pick something you enjoy. Because you're going to be doing A LOT of it. For Decades.

DO NOT pick a career you think will make you lots of money. It may not, especially if you suck at it because you hate it. But regardless money is not worth your happiness.

BUT DO pick a career that will put a roof over your head. It is NOT society's job to feed and house you for the next half a century because nothing interests you. If you pick something you truly enjoy doing, you'll find in all the big world you're not the only one passionate about it. And people will pay for your services if you're remotely good at it and it has any moral value.

Example: if you're a 5'1" girl and dream of playing in the NBA that's just delusional. If all that really interests you is taking nude pictures of children - well there may be money in that, but I don't see it going anywhere as a career. On the other hand people will pay big money for someone to cut down trees -- you work in the fresh air, there's always something new and you don't take your job stress home. Alternately people will pay big money for someone to do their taxes -- you work in air conditioning, there's a comfortable routine and you can stay engaged studying new regulations at night.

Even today people pay for paintings, and sculptures. Whatever interests you, will interest someone else willing to give you money for it.

The main thing you DO NOT want to to (other than kiddie porn) is waste $50,000 in college! Everyone today has been convinced they have to have a BS/BA or they'll instantly be homeless on the street. This is an abominable lie! If you want a career that needs this training go and get it, then get the fuck out before you're in debt for life. Keep an eye on those loans or they will ruin your life. But NEVER go to college to find yourself. Collage doesn't know any better than a gypsy fortune teller. And she'll charge about $49,900 less for blowing the same amount of sunshine up your ass.
