I know how that feels. I was never that good in social situation and bullying didn't help. I really had no idea what to do with my life when choosing a career. I ended up becoming a nurse. This profession has taught me how to be a bit more social out of necessity. It is a skill you can practice. Once you start recognizing some patterns it becomes easier.
You should pursue your interest in IT. Don't be afraid of the challenges you're going to face. Depending on what job you're going to apply to, you might not even have that much contact with other people in your work. It all depends on your choices and the chances you take.

Thank you.
I'm quite... something. Not sure if it's luck, but I now have a job that requires I be social to an extent.
I'm hoping it will push me to learn more about those patterns so I can have friends & such (I have no IRL friends I see regularly).

The only way to get friends seems to be to reach out. You need to start hobbies that involve other people and keep at it.
