No need to dumb it down deliberately; the language is devolving into Pidgin on its own.

A language that is too simple is not a challange for the mind and it leads to idiocracy
Languages shape mind: Italian is irregular in quite some ways, goes weill with singing (lots of hanging vowels)
German is strict in grammar with a well defined logic (and you see where germans are in industry)
Japanese + chinese need a very precise form of memory and precision
So, leave English as it is

They tried that with Esperanto.
English is a rich language based on Latin, Greek, Danish, French, some Hindi, and other languages. It evolves organically.

No way. Irregular verbs are great for identifying outsiders.
