Been in Ohio all week. First to Cincinnati and now I am in Columbus, but I drove here from Oklahoma. Every single gas station I stopped at, and every restaurant.....just fucking everywhere has a help wanted sign. Some even say start today.
I have never seen so many places fighting for workers.
Don't really know what to make of it. I get some goats would say....they are shit jobs. While that could be the case it is a job.

More jobs than unemployed right now. There has never been a better time in finding a better job.
Remember under Obama when 100 people would show up for like one position?

This happened a while back, early 2000s.. Like, early GWB timeframe.
Minimum wage was $5.25, I believe. Every fast food joint, etc. was advertising, "Starting wages $9!/hr!" "Starting wages $11/hr!" "Benefits included!" "We pay for school!"

The economy as organized seems to promote multiple part time jobs vs one full time job. My suspicion is that wide spread inconsistent working arrangements and the endless supply of immigrants/workers are two of the three main factors causing wage stagnation since the 70s. The third being globalization that moves manufacturing out of the country.

You can get them as secondary jobs, for some extra saving money.

Has been like this for at least 30 years in chicago. Nobody wants to live in a blue city or a chocolate city.

Honestly (and I don't know why I got downvoted for this) there's a lot of spam about driving lyft or whatever but outside of my city center there seem to be a lot of entry level manufacturing jobs paying 15-20/hr. In the city it's all medical horseshit and restaurants.
